Yes. It should only be a rebuild of your distribution's package, but using 
Michael Walle's source:
git clone http://git.serverraum.org/git/mw/qemu-lm32.git
git pull origin milkymist
It should be only a temporary solution until his patches are merged upstream. 
However, having our own packages would give us greater reactivity to 
distribute new features rather than waiting for the distributions to upgrade 
and recompile their packages.

Which distribution(s) are you making packages for?
