While word access speeds up boot time, I am not sure if BPI (_Byte_ parallel
interface) uses word access. BYTE# is connected to LDC ( "Low during
configuration)  in ug380, page 46, Fig-2-10, so only byte access is done
during configuration (in my understanding).
