Hi Sebastien,

The EDK3.2 version will be slower - it has a shorter pipeline, hence a lower 
clock speed. On the Spartan3, it is only about 50MHz compared to 100MHz+ for 
the newer core.

The external bus signals are also slightly different (but this is not a show-
stopper). 

It doesn't have any cache memory at all either but this can be included 
externally (needs to be clocked on the opposite edge to the processor).

All in all, the EDK3.2 version is more primitive.

I'd think that it may not be a very good idea, considering that you are facing 
some performance issues.

What kind of dead-line are you on?
